“This trip was life changing. TV pictures don’t really tell the story but actually experiencing New Orleans was heartfelt. I felt really moved that I was there to make a difference, helping other people, changing the world in a small way, in the country where we live. It was a very intense feeling. We saw the destruction, felt sad, but were happy we were helping. We did something courageous, strong, and blessed. I came home with a never –ending feeling of respect for the people of New Orleans.”

“The trip taught me to appreciate what I have. Although many people in New Orleans lost everything, they are optimistic, happy, enjoying the simple things in life, family and friends, and not taking anything for granted. People were so friendly and grateful for our help.”

“The trip taught me to stay positive during the rough patches in life. It also taught me the value of community service, something I want to continue to be involved with as I get older.”
